A serious allegation has rocked the social media space, as travel and lifestyle content creator Angelica Kelechi has accused a masseur at KokobyKhloe, a spa owned by reality TV star Khloe Abiri, of sexually assaulting her during a massage session. The shocking revelation has not only stirred conversations about safety and accountability in wellness spaces but has also triggered outrage over the treatment of women seeking justice in Nigeria.

Sharing her harrowing experience via Instagram stories, Angelica described how what was meant to be a relaxing spa visit turned into a traumatic ordeal. She claimed the male masseur crossed professional boundaries during the session, going so far as to insert his fingers into her private area multiple times. The act, according to Angelica, was unsolicited and without consent.

Her first instinct was to report the misconduct to the management, expecting swift action. However, what followed left her even more distressed. The spa, owned by former Big Brother Naija housemate Khloe Abiri, allegedly dismissed the incident with shocking nonchalance. Angelica recounted that when she relayed the incident directly to Khloe, the entrepreneur’s response was alarmingly casual. Khloe reportedly said, "These things happen at a massage."

A recorded phone call, which Angelica made public, appears to support her claim. In the audio clip, a voice alleged to be Khloe’s can be heard seemingly rationalizing the assault. The voice questions whether Angelica told the masseur to stop and repeats the notion that such incidents are not uncommon during massages. "When he touched you... because these things happen in massage to be honest... when he touched you the first time, did you tell him that...?" the voice said, sparking outrage from listeners.

Feeling abandoned by the spa, Angelica turned to law enforcement for justice. Yet, she claims the police response mirrored the same dismissive attitude she encountered earlier. According to her, officers at the station did not offer support or guidance, but instead blamed and shamed her for going to a spa in the first place. The trauma of the incident, compounded by the lack of support from both the business and the authorities, has left her feeling deeply violated and powerless.

Speaking further, Angelica expressed her frustration with the broader system. She lamented the pervasive culture of victim-blaming and the glaring lack of justice for women in Nigeria. "Women rarely get justice," she said, adding that the entire experience has left her emotionally scarred.

The incident has reignited discussions on the urgent need for regulation and accountability within wellness and spa businesses in Nigeria. Many online have demanded that spas implement stricter hiring protocols and training to ensure staff maintain professional boundaries at all times. Others are calling for a larger societal shift—one that starts with believing survivors and ensuring mechanisms exist to protect them.

As for Khloe Abiri and her spa, neither an official statement nor a public apology had been issued at the time of this report. The public, however, remains engaged and divided—some defending the reality star and others condemning what they view as complicity through silence or dismissal.
