These settlers integrated into various descent groups, leading to the formation of the city's four main quarters: Otolo, Uruagu, Umudim, and Nnewichi. Historically, Nnewi functioned as an independent kingdom known as Anaedo, meaning the "Land of Gold." The city has a rich cultural heritage, with traditions and customs that have been preserved over centuries.

• By Road: A trip from Lagos to Nnewi by road takes approximately 6 hours and 40 minutes, with an estimated cost of about N15,000 - 25,000. Alternatively, travelers can fly to Asaba Airport and then take a smooth ride to Nnewi, which is roughly an hour's drive away.

• By Air: The nearest major airport is in Asaba, Delta State, approximately 70 kilometers from Nnewi. From there, travelers can hire a taxi or use local transport to reach Nnewi.
