Drama Unfolds as Peter Okoye Accuses Jude of Envy and Reveals Why His Solo Career Brings More Peace

Tensions have erupted once again within the Okoye family, as Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, took to social media to address longstanding grievances with his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Peter, who was once one half of the chart-topping music duo P-Square alongside his twin brother Paul, has expressed deep frustration over what he describes as continuous disrespect, sabotage, and manipulation from Jude. The confrontation unfolded publicly on Facebook, where Peter opened up about the emotional and professional burden he claims Jude placed on him over the years.

The catalyst for this renewed conflict appears to be a statement made by Jude, who recently accused Peter of greed and ungratefulness. Jude alleged that he provided the platform that allowed Peter to rise to fame and that once success was achieved, Peter and others opted to walk away, leaving him behind. According to Jude, the result of that decision was a fall from grace for those who left his management, leading them into financial difficulties and obscurity.

“They all have one thing in common: They were big, influential and successful when I was shouldering them with my platform until they got greedy and wanted to eat alone,” Jude said. “They never complained afterwards. Rather they bragged about their ‘new found freedom’ and ‘making it all on their own’. Years down the line they fell off the wagon and became broke and instead of accepting responsibility and accountability for their choices, they are pointing fingers at the same person they left for their ‘freedom’.”

Peter, clearly provoked by Jude’s claims, did not hold back in his rebuttal. His response, filled with emotion and clarity, challenged the narrative that Jude was the one driving the success of the P-Square brand or any of their individual achievements.

“Calling me broke or wishing I was broke has been your wish,” Peter began in a post on Facebook. “These are the exact same words you told the EFCC officials. And you ended up getting locked up in prison. Of course, you have to come up with another narrative.”

He was quick to remind the public that Jude was not some all-powerful music mogul but rather an employed manager, just like the others who came before him. “You were shouldering who?” Peter asked pointedly. “Agbaya, you were employed as a manager, and you got sacked the same as the other 2 managers before you. Period!”

This bitter exchange reveals the depth of personal and professional conflict that has lingered within the Okoye family. Despite the success they achieved as P-Square, it is now evident that behind the music were layers of mistrust and disagreements that eventually fractured the group.

Peter also used the moment to reflect on how much his life has improved since the split. Far from being broke or struggling, he declared that going solo was the best decision he ever made, both financially and emotionally.

“I understand this may not sit well with some people,” he said, “but truth be told, aside from my businesses, what I now earn on my own as a solo artiste today is more than what I used to earn after splitting three ways as PSQUARE plus the so-called manager.”

He emphasized that the financial gains were only part of the story. Peace of mind and freedom from betrayal, he said, were just as important to him. The musician suggested that staying in a partnership with people who stole from him and disrespected his effort would have been detrimental to his well-being.

“This solo journey has been a blessing. More rewarding and profitable, both financially and personally, no doubt. And it has also brought peace of mind. And if you don’t relate or it doesn’t make sense to you, no worries, it’s not meant to. But I am grateful,” he concluded.

Not one to let his words be misinterpreted, Peter closed his statement with a sharp warning. He explained that the days of staying quiet while being disrespected are long gone. His new approach is to match energy with energy.

“I have stopped playing nice and being the matured one while getting disrespected. I started treating people exactly how they treat me. Respect me, I respect you! Ignore me, I ignore you! Cross me, I cut you off, simple. Life isn’t about begging people for fair treatment. It’s about matching energy. It is what it is,” Peter declared.

The latest round of public conflict between the Okoye brothers has stirred strong reactions from fans across social media. While some sympathize with Peter’s stance and applaud his courage to speak up, others are calling for the family to settle their differences privately.

As of now, no response has been issued by Jude Okoye following Peter’s lengthy remarks. However, it is clear that the wounds left by their split remain far from healed.
