Prince Ukachukwu Vows Inclusive Governance in Anambra as Nri Community Backs APC Gubernatorial Team

The 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State is gaining increasing momentum as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, continues his campaign with a firm promise of inclusive leadership that will extend across the state's diverse communities.

A special reception held in Nri, a historical town in Anaocha Local Government Area, saw the APC flagbearer and his running mate, Senator Mrs. (Iyom) Uche Ekwunife, received with fanfare and open arms by leaders and stakeholders of the community. The event, organized to affirm local support for the APC ticket, turned into a spirited endorsement rally for the duo ahead of the November 8 election.

Addressing the crowd, Prince Ukachukwu reiterated his commitment to equitable governance. He stated that each of Anambra’s 179 communities, regardless of political, ethnic, or cultural distinctions, would enjoy equal attention under his administration. He emphasized that his campaign is rooted in unity, development, and a shared vision for a prosperous Anambra.

Ukachukwu further declared his intention to work closely with all communities, highlighting Nri as a partner in progress. He praised the town’s historical and cultural significance, noting its status as a cradle of Igbo civilization. His message centered on collaboration and community-driven development, calling on the people to entrust him with their mandate to serve with fairness and transparency.

The choice of Nri as the reception venue was especially symbolic, being the hometown of Senator Ekwunife, Ukachukwu’s running mate and a prominent political figure in the state. Her grassroots appeal and history of public service were major points of discussion among community stakeholders who gathered to voice their approval.

Chief Kelvin Obiegbunam, former President General of the Nri community and chairman of the event, praised Senator Ekwunife for her contributions to the development of the town during her tenure in various political offices. Describing her as a "pragmatic politician" with the capacity to serve as Deputy Governor, he urged the community to rally behind the APC ticket for the good of Anambra.

Another respected figure, Chief Chuks Emelife, delivered what would become the defining moment of the reception: a formal motion for the adoption of Prince Ukachukwu and Senator Ekwunife as Nri’s preferred candidates. He lauded Ekwunife’s record of public service, integrity, and effectiveness, suggesting that her past achievements serve as a clear indication of what the team could deliver if elected.

Emelife stressed that the combination of Ukachukwu and Ekwunife represents a competent, people-focused leadership model needed to reposition Anambra for better governance. He concluded by assuring the APC duo of the community’s unwavering support and commitment to ensuring their victory at the polls.

Speaking from the heart, Senator Ekwunife expressed gratitude to her kinsmen for the honor bestowed upon her and the confidence shown in her political journey. She acknowledged the emotional weight of being embraced by her own people and promised not to let them down.

She pledged that no community would be sidelined or forgotten if the APC team secures the people’s mandate. Ekwunife also took the opportunity to advocate for a shift in political mindset, urging citizens to place value on competence, development-focused leadership, and public service above partisan sentiments or personal interests.

Calling the APC a vehicle to achieving a common destination of progress, she reinforced the message that elections should be about selecting leaders with a clear vision and proven commitment to uplifting society.

The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among attendees, many of whom described the occasion as a rallying point for greater political engagement in the lead-up to the election. With the endorsement from Nri now secured, the APC campaign appears to be gathering significant traction, especially among communities that value both tradition and transformational leadership.

As the November election approaches, all eyes are on Anambra State, where Prince Ukachukwu and Senator Ekwunife are pitching a vision of unity, fairness, and forward-thinking governance — one community at a time.
