Renewed Hope Movement Rolls Out Massive Support Program Across Anambra to Back President Tinubu's Re-Election

A wave of political mobilisation swept through Anambra State on Saturday as the South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) flagged off an expansive empowerment program. The initiative, covering all 21 local government areas of the state, is part of a broader grassroots strategy to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Held in Awka, the state capital, the launch of the program drew participants from across the region. Banners bearing the message of “renewed hope” flanked the venue, as community leaders, political figures, and ordinary citizens gathered to witness the formal inauguration of the campaign and empowerment activities.

National Coordinator of SERHA, Belusochukwu Enwerem, stood before a large crowd and articulated the mission driving the movement. He described SERHA as a vehicle for change and an avenue through which citizens of the Southeast could feel directly engaged with national development. According to Enwerem, the group is focused on showcasing President Tinubu’s achievements and ensuring that the benefits of his administration are communicated clearly to grassroots communities.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated sincere commitment to the Southeast,” Enwerem told the audience. “We are educating people on the progress of the past two years and working toward his re-election because we believe in his vision for Nigeria.”

A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of regional ambassadors tasked with spreading the message of development, hope, and progress throughout their localities. These ambassadors will function as community-level advocates, delivering the message of governance and accountability directly to citizens, particularly those who might otherwise be disengaged from political discourse.

Efforts to stimulate economic participation at the community level were tangible at the event. Attendees witnessed the distribution of various livelihood-enhancing tools, including motorcycles, tricycles (Keke buses), sewing machines, grinding machines, and hairdressing kits. In addition, a structured financial aid program was introduced. Under this scheme, N200,000 was awarded to 100 beneficiaries, N100,000 to 200 people, N50,000 to another 300 individuals, and N20,000 was shared among 500 less privileged families.

According to Enwerem, this gesture represents more than charity. “This is about empowering people, giving them the tools to transform their lives and contribute to their communities. This is the essence of the renewed hope agenda,” he said.

Also addressing the gathering was Professor Frank Anaeto of the Federal University of Technology Owerri. Known for his work in Agricultural Extension, Professor Anaeto commended the inclusive spirit of SERHA and its dedication to engaging citizens across demographic lines. “We are building a collective movement,” he noted. “This is about uniting well-meaning Nigerians behind a shared vision for the future.”

The event provided a platform for other notable voices within SERHA to weigh in on the broader goals of the initiative. Deputy National Coordinator Chukwudi Anyanwuocha emphasized the significant infrastructural and financial investments already channeled into the Southeast by the Tinubu administration. Chief among these is the newly inaugurated Southeast Investment Company, which boasts a capital base of over 150 billion Naira.

“We are often asked if this government cares about the Southeast,” Anyanwuocha remarked. “I challenge anyone to point to another region that has attracted this level of targeted investment within the same time frame.”

At the state level, Anambra Coordinator Comrade Alphonsus Muonagolu voiced appreciation for the federal government’s steps toward tackling longstanding socio-economic issues. He encouraged citizens to show patience as policy-driven solutions continue to evolve. “It is not an overnight process,” he stated, “but there is visible momentum, and we are part of ensuring that this momentum reaches every doorstep in Anambra.”

Muonagolu also appealed for operational support. He called on stakeholders to assist SERHA in securing vehicles and local offices that would enhance outreach efforts. “For us to connect directly with community influencers, traders, and the youth, we need the right tools. This will make our door-to-door campaign truly effective,” he stressed.

Closing the event on an optimistic note, Muonagolu reiterated that this empowerment drive is a foundational step toward a more inclusive and prosperous society. He praised the collaboration between government and citizens and expressed hope that the current trajectory of development would attract continued investment and policy attention.

What began as a political mobilisation drive has evolved into a full-scale empowerment strategy with a focus on transformation, unity, and grassroots advocacy. As the road to 2027 begins to take shape, SERHA’s bold entry into the political landscape signals that the Southeast is ready to assert its place in the national dialogue.
