According to viral updates shared by fellow actor Stanley Ontop, Williams was arrested on the morning of July 21, 2025, at his residence in Delta State. Nwafor Franklin, better known in the industry as Izutech, has been identified as the key figure involved in the arrest operation. In his social media caption accompanying the video, Stanley left a clear warning to the public and authorities alike: “Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu’s custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible.” The message has since gone viral, drawing sharp reactions from fans, industry stakeholders and rights activists.

Further complicating matters, Stanley also accused Izutech of financial misconduct. He claimed that the latter collected ₦2.5 million from various producers who intended to feature Jerry Williams in upcoming projects. These funds, Stanley alleged, were never transferred to Williams himself. The implication of both wrongful detention and embezzlement has added fuel to an already explosive situation.

This troubling event comes just days after Jerry Williams made headlines for his return to Nollywood following a lengthy stint in rehabilitation.
