Update: Heartbroken Mother Cries For Help As Gunmen Demand ₦20 Million To Free Her Kidnapped Daughter In Edo

Tears streamed down the face of a helpless mother in Edo State as she cried out for help, begging Nigerians and public figures to rescue her kidnapped daughter, Wahab Aisha, from the hands of ruthless gunmen. Her voice trembled with pain and fear as she narrated the horrifying experience that has left her family shattered and sleepless.

The woman, who could barely speak through her sobs, appealed to popular logistics manager Isreal DMW and other compassionate Nigerians to help raise the ransom demanded by her daughter’s abductors. According to her, the kidnappers are demanding a staggering ₦20 million to secure Aisha’s release, and they have threatened to take her life if the money is not delivered before their set deadline.

Gunmen reportedly stormed Igbira Camp in Auchi, Edo State, last Saturday, seizing Aisha and whisking her into the dense forest. The attack threw the quiet community into chaos as residents fled for safety while others watched helplessly. Since the abduction, the family has been consumed by panic, unable to raise the enormous sum demanded.

The distraught mother, speaking from a crumbling mud house, painted a picture of unbearable suffering. The viral video obtained by SaharaReporters captured her sitting on a stool outside her hut, her voice breaking as she pleaded for help. “As you see me so, I cannot eat. I am only thinking because of Aisha,” she said, her eyes red and swollen from tears. “They carried my daughter into the bush since last week Saturday. They were demanding ₦30 million before, but after we begged them, they reduced it to ₦20 million. I beg Isreal DMW, help us. I don’t have anything. See where I live. I am a poor woman with no money. I sell leaves with Aisha in the market to survive. Nigerians, please help me.”

The mother’s pain echoes the deep hardship faced by many low-income families across rural Nigeria. For her, Aisha is not just a daughter but also her partner in survival. Together, they sell vegetables and leaves at the local market to afford basic necessities. Without her, the woman’s means of livelihood has collapsed, and her world has fallen apart.

Beside her, Aisha’s sister joined in the emotional appeal, calling on the public, charitable organisations, and influential individuals to intervene before tragedy strikes. “We don’t have rich relatives or anyone to help us. We are relying on Nigerians to save our sister’s life,” she said, clutching a worn-out photograph of Aisha.

The kidnappers have reportedly given the family until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to pay the ransom or risk losing their daughter forever. According to SaharaReporters, a disturbing video released by the abductors shows Aisha sitting on the ground with a gun pointed at her head and chest. In the footage, the terrified young woman begs for her life, pleading with the public to come to her aid and save her from execution. Her voice quivers as she repeats that her captors have vowed to kill her if the ransom is not paid before the deadline.

Local residents of Igbira Camp described the area as being increasingly unsafe in recent months due to rising cases of bandit attacks and kidnappings. Many expressed frustration that authorities have failed to protect them or respond promptly to the growing insecurity in their community. Some residents said they live in constant fear, avoiding travel at night and staying indoors once darkness falls.

Security analysts have continued to raise concerns over the surge in kidnapping incidents across Edo and neighboring states. They note that abductions have become a major source of revenue for criminal gangs who now target traders, farmers, students, and even children. Despite government promises to clamp down on these criminal groups, little progress has been made in curbing the menace.

For Aisha’s mother, time is slipping away, and hope is fading fast. Each passing hour feels like a lifetime as she waits for news of her daughter. Her appeal has touched many online, with social media users sharing the video widely in hopes of drawing attention from kind-hearted Nigerians who might help raise the ransom or facilitate her rescue.

As the deadline looms, the family continues to pray for a miracle. The woman’s voice, though frail, carries the weight of a mother’s love and desperation. “Aisha is my only child. I cannot lose her,” she whispered, her eyes fixed on the dirt floor. “Please, Nigerians, don’t let them kill my daughter.”

Her cry is not just a personal plea but a reflection of the broader insecurity plaguing the nation. For now, the fate of young Aisha lies in the hands of those willing to respond to her mother’s desperate call for mercy and intervention.
