Femi Fani Kayode Warns Nigeria As Terror Onslaught Escalates With Shocking Abductions And Killings Across Many States

A somber reflection rises from the voice of Femi Fani Kayode as he recounts a harrowing chain of tragedies that swept across Nigeria within a single week. His detailed list of kidnappings and killings paints a chilling portrait of a nation under siege, urging citizens and leaders alike to confront the gravity of the security collapse. His message carries the weight of grief, outrage and a plea for decisive intervention before more lives are lost.

A brutal episode marked the beginning of the chaos as Brigadier General Uba and three of his men were seized and publicly executed by Islamist terrorists in Borno state. Fani Kayode describes the incident as a painful strike at the heart of the nation’s armed forces, leaving families shattered and morale shaken.

A surge of terror followed. Sixty four civilians, including women and children, were abducted in Tsafe LGA in Zamfara state. Fani Kayode highlights this as one of the most heartbreaking attacks, noting how entire families were uprooted and dragged into captivity while communities watched helplessly.

A yet deeper wound opened when twenty five female students and their Principal were taken from their school in Maga, Kebbi state. Their Vice Principal was killed during the attack. Fani Kayode stresses that such assaults on educational institutions symbolize an attack on the future of the country itself.

Another horrifying blow came with the abduction of thirty eight worshippers from a church in Eruku, Kwara state. Fani Kayode emphasizes the cruelty of targeting people engaged in prayer, pointing to the shrinking number of places citizens can consider safe.

A policeman was killed in Geidam, Yobe state, further underscoring the relentless danger faced by security personnel. Fani Kayode condemns the increasing boldness of terrorist groups who strike at uniformed officers with impunity.

Grief spread even further when eight members of the Civilian Task Force were killed and three abducted in Gwoza, Borno state. Fani Kayode mourns these losses deeply, noting that these volunteers represent the bravery of ordinary citizens trying to defend their communities.

Fani Kayode’s list continues with the abduction of fifteen people in Sabon Birni, Sokoto state, including nursing mothers and babies. Two others were killed during the attack. He describes this tragedy as a brutal reminder of the terrorists’ disregard for the most vulnerable.

Kwara state suffered again when four rice farmers were murdered in Edu. Fani Kayode reflects on this as a strike against hardworking citizens already struggling to survive amid economic hardship.

The week’s horrors culminated in Niger state with the kidnapping of fifty two students from a Catholic school in Agwara. Fani Kayode condemns the assault as another dark entry in the growing catalogue of crimes against innocent learners.

A heavy plea closes his reflection. Fani Kayode calls on Nigerians to pray for the nation, while urging authorities to rise to the challenge with urgency and resolve. He warns that failure to act now will only open the door to more chaos, more mourning and more shattered families across the country.
