Senator Nwoko Insists Regina Daniels Was 19 At Marriage Not 17, Condemns Online Smear Campaign Against Them

Nigerian senator and businessman Ned Nwoko has publicly clarified that Nollywood actress Regina Daniels was 19, not 17, when they got married. The statement, released through the Communication and Technical Action Team from his office, comes amid widespread speculation and online reports regarding the age at which the actress entered the union. Nwoko emphasized that the marriage was conducted according to both law and tradition, and has always been open and honorable.

According to Nwoko, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000, which places her at 19 years old at the time of their marriage. “For clarity, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19 years old, not 17,” he stated. The senator highlighted that his cultural background embraces polygamy and that his union with Daniels was formal, respectful, and dignified.

Nwoko stressed that their marriage has always been public, transparent, and grounded in care and affection. He explained that he has always prioritized Regina’s well-being and comfort, noting that his dedication to her extends beyond social media appearances. “Beyond the social media lifestyle, my world revolved around Regina. I pampered her and cared for her deeply, something everyone who has worked with me across Delta, Abuja, and beyond can testify to,” he added.

The senator also addressed what he described as false and politically motivated reports circulating online. He asserted that these narratives aim to discredit him and target Regina as a vulnerable point. “It is, therefore, disheartening to read all this filth being spread online. As the saying goes, when a wall cracks, the lizard finds its way in. Regina has become a weak point through which my political and personal enemies are attacking me,” Nwoko said.

He characterized the online attacks as part of a longstanding campaign intended to undermine his achievements as a senator. According to Nwoko, the portrayal of their marriage has been distorted to serve political blackmail and tarnish his reputation. “My decision to marry her properly according to tradition is now being twisted into a tool for political blackmail. This is a witch-hunt that has been ongoing for years, an attempt to stop my developmental strides and tarnish me now that I am a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he remarked.

The senator further claimed that Regina had previously faced challenges with substance use, which led to her and her sister leaving school. “The whole world has read her own accounts of substance use, and her former schoolmates have testified online that she and her sister dropped out of school because of drug-related issues. Yet some people keep pushing this false narrative to damage my reputation. She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication,” he explained.

Nwoko concluded by alleging that certain individuals are exploiting Regina to execute a smear campaign against him. He insisted that all circulated stories are fabricated, amounting to criminal defamation, and warned that those behind them would eventually be held accountable. “Her medical records are verifiable, but the enemies of progress are now manipulating her to achieve their aims. If she had any secrets to reveal, she would have done so. She has nothing. All the current stories being circulated are fabricated and amount to criminal defamation, and those behind this smear campaign will have their day to prove their claims,” he said.

The clarification aims to firmly set the record straight, addressing public concern over the timing of the marriage and reaffirming Nwoko’s commitment to both tradition and transparency in his personal life.
