Senator Ned Nwoko has restated his firm position that his estranged wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, must undergo rehabilitation. The politician said this during a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, where he emphasized that his call for rehab stems from genuine concern for Regina’s health and their children’s future.

According to Nwoko, recent toxicology tests revealed alarming levels of harmful substances in Daniels’ system. He explained that these findings left him deeply disturbed and reinforced his fear that she might not survive if urgent action is not taken. The senator stressed that many people have lost their lives to drug overdoses and that he cannot bear to imagine how he would explain such a tragedy to their sons.

Expressing both pain and frustration, Nwoko revealed that his wife’s once calm and loving personality has changed drastically in the past several months. He described episodes of violent and self-destructive behavior that often ended in medical emergencies. On multiple occasions, he claimed, he had to rush her to Nizamiye Hospital after she collapsed from an overdose. He urged anyone in doubt to confirm these incidents directly with the hospital.

The lawmaker insisted that his motivation is not punishment but protection. He said that rehab would provide Daniels with a controlled environment, preventing her from accessing harmful substances while she undergoes proper treatment. He added that his primary goal is to see his wife alive, healthy, and capable of raising their two young children in a stable environment.

To further support his claims, Nwoko presented what he described as official toxicology results showing the presence of several substances at toxic levels in her body. He criticized statements made by Regina’s family, especially her mother and siblings, dismissing their denials as distractions from the real issue. According to him, anyone advising her to reject medical treatment is an enemy to both her and her children.

The senator went on to allege that Daniels’ friends and family, particularly her brother Sammy, have been enabling her access to drugs. He accused them of taking advantage of her wealth to fund her addiction, claiming that each time she made progress, they sabotaged her recovery by sneaking drugs back into her reach.

Nwoko also addressed the circulating rumor that his son’s death in the United Kingdom was related to drug overdose. He called the story false and stated that official autopsy results confirmed there were no traces of drug-related complications in the case.

The ongoing conflict between the couple has drawn massive attention since October, when a video showing Regina in tears accused Nwoko of domestic violence. The senator countered those allegations by revealing her struggles with drug and alcohol addiction.

Earlier, Daniels reportedly admitted to using hard substances but claimed that her addiction was not self-inflicted. She accused Nwoko of manipulating her and contributing to her dependency as part of what she described as a pattern of control. The actress further alleged that the senator is holding onto her private recordings, worsening the emotional turmoil surrounding their marital crisis.

The public remains divided as both sides continue to share conflicting accounts, but one thing is certain: the dispute has evolved into a deeply personal and public struggle touching on health, family, and reputation.
