Over Two Million Students Endorse Governor Soludo, Donate ₦2 Million for Reelection

 

Awka, Anambra State – In a resounding display of confidence in his leadership, over two million students in Anambra State have thrown their support behind Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office. The massive endorsement came during a grand rally at the International Convention Centre, Awka, organized by the Council of Students Union Government Presidents.

As a token of their commitment, the students presented a cheque of ₦2 million to the governor, a donation they described as their contribution towards his reelection bid. The Chairman of the Joint Campus Committee (JCC) for Anambra State, Comrade Mathew Okpara, while handing over the cheque, explained that the student community was backing Governor Soludo because of his numerous achievements in the education sector.

According to Comrade Okpara, the governor’s policies have significantly improved public schools in the state, providing better learning facilities and an enabling environment for academic excellence. He stated that the students had felt a tangible difference since the inception of Soludo’s administration, making it imperative for them to support his continuity in office.

Governor Soludo, in his response, expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming endorsement and generous financial support from the students. He acknowledged their contribution as a strong testament to the positive impact of his administration's educational reforms.

The governor further revealed plans to initiate a comprehensive documentation of all students in Anambra State. This initiative, he noted, would facilitate the introduction of a bursary award scheme aimed at easing the financial burdens of students across the state.

In addition, Governor Soludo urged students to take full advantage of the recently introduced Federal Government Students Loan Scheme, emphasizing that the initiative was designed to assist Nigerian students in funding their academic pursuits. He assured them that his administration would continue to prioritize education and youth empowerment, as these are critical to the state's development.

The rally was a colorful affair, with students from various higher institutions across Anambra State carrying placards and banners in support of Governor Soludo’s second-term bid. The event featured cultural performances, solidarity speeches, and chants of praise for the governor’s transformative policies.

Governor Soludo’s first term has seen significant strides in education, including the recruitment of teachers, rehabilitation of schools, and the provision of modern learning facilities. His administration has also implemented policies aimed at improving the welfare of students and ensuring they have access to quality education.
