"This district society will serve as a hub for fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring that members have access to the resources and support they need to thrive in their careers," Mrs. Nduka said.

She also took a moment to appreciate the leadership of ICAN at the national level. Mrs. Nduka recognized Chief Davidson Alaribe, the President of ICAN, and the entire Governing Council of ICAN for their guidance and approval of the Nnewi district society's creation. Her heartfelt gratitude extended to Dr. Sylvanus Izebhokhae, the Chairman of the Onitsha District Society of ICAN, whose tireless efforts and leadership were instrumental in the formation of the Nnewi district society. She also thanked the committee members and other stakeholders who contributed to making the event a reality.

The event was highlighted by the investiture of Mr. Chima Nwosu as the pioneer chairman of the Nnewi District Society. During the investiture ceremony, Mr. Nwosu, flanked by his newly elected executive members, pledged their commitment to leading the district society with dedication and professionalism. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nwosu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by his colleagues and promised to lead the society in a way that would benefit all members and contribute to the overall advancement of the accounting profession.

"I, along with my executive members, accept this responsibility with humility," Mr. Nwosu remarked. "We are ready to serve and deliver on our mandate, ensuring that the Nnewi District Society remains a model of professionalism, innovation, and support for our members." He further assured the gathering that the society would be a force for positive change, focusing on enhancing the quality of professional practice and supporting members to reach new heights in their careers.

The event was well-attended by ICAN members from the Nnewi region, including esteemed professionals, mentors, and members of the Onitsha District Society, who came in full support of the new district society's formation. The ceremony was a testament to the growth of ICAN and its expanding influence across Nigeria.

As the newly inaugurated Nnewi District Society embarks on this new journey, the establishment is expected to play a crucial role in developing the next generation of accountants in the region, offering them the tools and support needed to succeed in an ever-evolving profession. The district society's first year in operation will be pivotal as it works to set the foundation for future growth and professional excellence in the area.

In closing, Mrs. Nduka offered a prayer for the new leadership, asking for wisdom, guidance, and strength in their work. As ICAN’s Nnewi District Society sets out on this new chapter, the hope is that it will contribute significantly to the continued development of the profession while serving the community and its members.
