Federal Government Declares Easter Holidays, Calls for National Reflection and Unity

In a gesture rooted in both spiritual reverence and national solidarity, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

The official announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who conveyed the message on behalf of the Federal Government. The statement, which was disseminated through the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, was met with warm reception from the Christian community and other Nigerians looking forward to the Easter break.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm congratulations to Christians across the nation, celebrating what he described as a "joyous and spiritually significant occasion" that symbolizes hope, sacrifice, and redemption. He encouraged believers to reflect deeply on the essence of Easter, highlighting the selfless love and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ as a moral compass for daily living.
