Revd. Father Ebubemonso Declares APC's Ukachukwu Divine Choice for Anambra, Ex-Councillors Mobilize Support

Anambra State's political atmosphere is beginning to stir with renewed anticipation following a fiery endorsement from one of the state’s most influential clerics, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, popularly known as Ebubemonso. The outspoken Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, on Sunday, declared that the emergence of Prince Johnbosco Ukachukwu as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2025 elections is nothing short of divine intervention for a state in search of new leadership.

The highly attended event took place at the Tansi Parish, Umudioka, where the priest welcomed the APC flagbearer with open arms and high expectations. Addressing the congregation, Ebubemonso described Ukachukwu’s candidacy as “God’s reprieve” to the people of Anambra who, according to him, have endured years of hardship under leadership that appears indifferent to the plight of its citizens.

“Ukachukwu represents God’s offer of comfort and hope in difficult times,” the cleric declared with conviction. “Anambra has been groaning under the weight of insecurity and poor governance. But God does not abandon His people. In times of distress, He provides a way out.”

Revered for his fearless sermons and grassroots influence, Fr. Obinma’s endorsement holds considerable political weight, especially among the religious faithful across the state. He urged citizens to discern the times and support leaders who carry divine vision and compassion for the people.

In his response, Prince Ukachukwu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and spiritual backing from the priest. Describing Fr. Obinma as “a true servant of God,” he reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Anambra, stating that his ambition is driven by a passion to serve and uplift.

“I am in this race because I believe Anambra deserves more—more development, more security, more dignity,” Ukachukwu said. “We will establish economic clusters that will generate wealth and end the cycle of poverty and hunger in our communities. I am ready to lead with transparency, compassion, and vision.”

The visit also witnessed a major political boost for Ukachukwu as he secured the unanimous endorsement of the umbrella body of former Councillors across the 326 political wards in Anambra State. The former ward leaders not only pledged their allegiance but also promised to activate a robust grassroots campaign to ensure his victory come November 8.

“We have seen the sincerity in his plans and the strength of his vision,” said one of the representatives of the group. “Prince Ukachukwu’s project is our project. We are ready to mobilize our networks and structures to deliver him at the polls.”

With endorsements now pouring in from both religious and political blocs, the APC candidate is fast gaining momentum ahead of what many predict will be a tightly contested gubernatorial race. Analysts believe that the backing of high-profile influencers like Fr. Obinma and the grassroots machinery of former councillors could play a pivotal role in shaping the election’s outcome.

For many observers, the synergy between moral authority and political mobilization being forged around Ukachukwu’s candidacy reflects a growing appetite for transformative leadership in Anambra State—leadership that transcends rhetoric and connects deeply with the people’s needs.

As the campaign trail heats up and more endorsements potentially follow, one thing appears certain: the political tide in Anambra is beginning to shift, and Prince Ukachukwu is sailing steadily with a rising wind at his back.
