Zion Ministry Brings a New Dawn of Care to Imo’s Most Vulnerable
A beacon of hope now stands tall in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, as the Zion Ministry, under the leadership of Evangelist Chukwuebuka Obi, has launched the Seraphic Orphanage and Home for the Elderly—a facility dedicated to providing comprehensive care for the state's most vulnerable populations: orphans and elderly individuals with no caregivers.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, visibly moved by the initiative, lauded Evangelist Obi for what he called a “visionary and deeply humanitarian project.” Speaking at the official commissioning of the home, the governor expressed his gratitude that the ministry chose to deepen its roots in Imo State. He praised the evangelist for "thinking home" and commended the boldness of the initiative, which he said would not only change lives but elevate the state's profile on the global stage.
“The choice of Imo for this impactful initiative is not just timely—it is transformational,” Uzodimma said. “When I approved the allocation of land for the headquarters of this ministry in Ngor Okpala, I foresaw this moment—a future where our state would be known not just for our resources, but for our compassion and commitment to humanity.”
Evangelist Obi, during his address, emphasized that the facility was borne out of a divine burden to care for those often forgotten by society. He explained that the newly commissioned home would offer a full suite of services, completely free of charge, including food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and educational support. Special attention, he noted, would be given to individuals who have no families or support systems.
“This is more than a building—it is a home in every sense,” Obi said passionately. “A place where love resides, where care is abundant, and where no one feels alone. We want our elderly to live out their days in dignity and for our orphans to grow in an environment where they can truly thrive.”
The Seraphic Home isn’t just about meeting physical needs. Its mission extends to fostering emotional healing, building self-esteem, and providing skills training for caregivers. The facility also aims to promote community engagement, encouraging volunteerism among citizens who wish to contribute to the well-being of others.
Community leaders and members in attendance echoed sentiments of admiration and gratitude, calling the home a “timely intervention” and a “divine answer” to the struggles many impoverished families face. For the elderly who have long lived in isolation and children abandoned due to hardship, this facility promises not just survival, but a renewed chance at life.
Zion Ministry, through its Seraphic Home Foundation, has long been a bastion of support for underserved communities. Beyond this new home, the foundation currently funds scholarships for over 60 children annually, covering a broad spectrum of educational levels. Additionally, it has stepped in to cover medical bills for patients facing life-threatening conditions—many of whom had no other hope for recovery.
As the event concluded, Evangelist Obi assured the public that the Seraphic Orphanage and Home for the Elderly was just the beginning. Plans are already in motion to replicate similar facilities in other parts of Nigeria, with the goal of ensuring that care and support reach every corner of the nation.
“What we’re doing here is a movement of compassion,” Obi said. “One that will ripple across states and touch lives far beyond our imagination. This is the gospel in action—love made visible.”
With its doors now open, the Seraphic Home in Ngor Okpala stands as a testament to the power of vision, faith, and community-driven impact. And for those who enter its gates seeking refuge, the message is clear: here, you are seen, you are valued, and you are home.
