Obidients Worldwide to Receive New Identity Cards with QR Authentication, Movement Announces

The Obidient Movement has taken a major step toward consolidating its global community by unveiling its official online registration portal and personalized identity cards for members across Nigeria and the diaspora. This development was announced through an official statement jointly signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator, and Nana Kazaure, Director of Strategic Communications and Media for the Movement, on Saturday.

Efforts to enhance unity and foster a more secure network among members have been at the forefront of the initiative. The new identity card design includes a thoughtful blend of functionality and symbolism. Each card is adorned with the flag of the holder’s country of residence, a clear nod to the movement’s international reach and diverse membership. Whether residing in Lagos, London, or Los Angeles, Obidients will proudly display not just their identity, but also a token of their roots and where they call home today.

A notable feature of the new cards is the embedded QR code situated at the bottom right corner. Designed for authenticity verification, the QR code can easily be scanned with any smartphone or QR reader, ensuring that interactions among Obidients remain trustworthy and secure. According to the statement, the purpose of this technological addition is to bolster confidence in member-to-member engagements, whether socially, professionally, or in business contexts.

Every card will bear the constant prefix "OBX," representing the shared identity across all registered Obidients. Beyond this common prefix, the cards integrate a coding system that tells a more detailed story about the holder. For Nigerian residents, the next four characters after OBX will consist of two letters and two numbers. The letters represent Nigerian state codes, such as LA for Lagos State or DE for Delta State, while the two numbers point to the specific local government area (LGA) where the holder is registered.

For members living outside Nigeria, slight modifications distinguish their cards. Instead of Nigerian state and LGA codes, these cards will feature a three-letter country code. For instance, an Obidient based in the United Kingdom would have "GBR" printed on the card. This system was carefully crafted to maintain a sense of shared purpose while recognizing the geographical diversity within the movement.

Security and privacy have been given utmost priority in the card design. Randomization techniques have been applied to the numeric portions of the IDs to ensure that they cannot be easily predicted or reverse-engineered. Even prominent members, such as the Movement’s revered figurehead Peter Obi, would not have an easily guessable identity number like "001." This measure aims to safeguard the identity of every cardholder against potential security breaches.

After submitting the online form, applicants undergo a verification process that includes validating social media handles, particularly their X (formerly Twitter) profiles. This step is intended to streamline authentication and further cement trust among members.

The movement’s leadership emphasized that while the new ID system is a major leap toward a more organized and cohesive community, individuals must still exercise personal responsibility. Members are strongly encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before engaging in any financial or formal partnerships with fellow Obidients, regardless of card verification.

“The OBX identity card initiative is not just a badge of belonging,” the statement stressed, “but a commitment to the principles that bind us: integrity, solidarity, and the unwavering belief that a New Nigeria is possible.”

Throughout the announcement, there was a strong sense of pride in how far the movement’s message has spread. The visual incorporation of various national flags symbolizes the global footprint of the Obidient Movement — a collective that has transcended borders and is growing stronger by the day.

As the registration portal goes live, the Movement calls on all its supporters — within and outside Nigeria — to sign up, authenticate their membership, and proudly carry the new identity card as a symbol of their dedication to the cause of sustainable governance, accountability, and a brighter Nigerian future.

With a strategic blend of technology, symbolic design, and global inclusion, the Obidient Movement’s latest project underscores a maturing organization ready to consolidate its gains and prepare for even greater influence on the world stage.
