Grief Deepens as Junior Pope’s Father, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, Passes Away [VIDEO]

 

The grief that followed the tragic passing of Nollywood actor Junior Pope has taken a deeper turn as his father, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, has also passed away. The solemn news was shared via Instagram by Jennifer, the widow of the late actor, who poured out her sorrow and reflected on the bond she shared with her departed father-in-law.

Through a deeply emotional tribute, Jennifer revealed that the loss came barely a month after she last saw him in Enugu. The heartbreaking moment was marked by a call from her mother-in-law, Reme, who informed her that her husband had now joined their late son. The revelation left Jennifer stunned. "I screamed but had to quickly pull myself together as she started crying after I screamed," she wrote, capturing the emotional weight of the moment.

Describing the late patriarch, Jennifer paid tribute to his genuine love, especially toward her. She referred to him as a man who not only embraced her wholeheartedly but also made lasting sacrifices for his family. “Ozor Luke Odonwodo is one man that genuinely loved me… And I’m so thankful I got to spend time with him even though short, unknowingly in his last days,” her post read.

Though his passing marks another devastating loss for the family, Jennifer’s words carried reverence and gratitude. She described him as a fulfilled man — an octogenarian who lived a full life, labored hard, loved deeply, and eventually reaped the rewards of his devotion to family and duty.

The dual loss within a year has weighed heavily on the family. Jennifer acknowledged the emotional toll, particularly on her mother-in-law, who has now had to bury both her husband and son. Yet, amid the sorrow, she clung to faith and hope, citing Bible verses from John 5:28–29 and Acts 24:15 — scriptures that promise resurrection and reunion.

"Adieu Father and Son. You are sorely missed but we hold onto the resurrection promises," she concluded, bidding farewell to both men whose deaths have left an indelible mark on their loved ones.

The Nollywood community and followers of the late actor continue to express condolences and support for the grieving family.
