APC Will Be Shocked in 2027, Says Kenneth Okonkwo as He Reveals Inside Details of Opposition Alliance [VIDEO]

Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent Labour Party figure and former spokesperson for the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, has expressed strong optimism about the chances of an emerging political coalition to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Sunday Politics, a current affairs programme aired on Channels Television, Okonkwo revealed that a powerful coalition made up of key political leaders is already in motion, working behind the scenes to challenge APC’s dominance at the polls.

Among the coalition members are notable political figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Okonkwo described the group as a well-organized and highly strategic force, one that he believes has the necessary structure and coordination to dismantle the ruling party’s political stronghold.

“Just know that I am part of the coalition,” Okonkwo said with conviction. “I can tell you about the engine room of this coalition that many people don’t know about. APC will not know what hit them come 2027.”

His remarks signal growing momentum behind the effort to build a new political force, which has already begun steps to register a new party called the All Democratic Alliance (ADA). According to Okonkwo, this development represents more than just another political regrouping; it reflects a conscious and deliberate attempt to rescue Nigeria’s democracy by forming a united front against what he described as failed leadership by the APC.

He further noted that the coalition is made up of individuals who, despite their differences in the past, have now found common ground in their desire to restore credibility, justice, and good governance to Nigeria.

“The people are hungry for change, real change. The kind that goes beyond rhetoric. What we are putting together is not a makeshift structure. This is a well-oiled engine designed to reclaim the people’s mandate,” Okonkwo said.

He rejected the notion that the ruling party remains politically untouchable, arguing instead that Nigerians are more politically aware than ever before and are ready to demand accountability through the ballot box.

Leaders of the APC have downplayed the significance of the coalition. Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, while speaking to journalists, dismissed the alliance as lacking the capacity to pose any serious threat to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition. He maintained that the APC remains united and focused on delivering on its campaign promises.

But Okonkwo was firm in his position. He said the very fact that leaders like Obasanjo, Atiku, and El-Rufai—who have at different points been on opposite sides—are now sitting at the same table should not be underestimated. To him, it speaks to the urgency of the political mission they are undertaking.

Political analysts have started weighing in on the possible implications of this new coalition. Some believe that if sustained, it could become a formidable political bloc capable of galvanizing broad national support. Others caution that alliances of this nature often falter due to internal competition and conflicting interests.

Still, Okonkwo appeared confident about the group’s internal cohesion. He described the coalition’s inner workings as disciplined, with a shared commitment to presenting a viable and unified alternative to the electorate.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the political environment is already beginning to take shape with moves such as this coalition. Kenneth Okonkwo’s insider insight has given Nigerians a glimpse into what may become the most significant opposition effort since the APC itself came to power.

While many questions remain about the coalition’s structure, leadership, and electoral strategy, one thing is clear: Kenneth Okonkwo believes the APC’s hold on power is far from guaranteed. And according to him, a political storm is brewing, one that the ruling party may not be ready for.
