Flavour to Headline Grand Opening of Solution Fun City as Anambra Launches Bold Social and Infrastructure Reforms

Anambra State is setting the stage for a memorable celebration and a bold new chapter in its developmental journey, with the Executive Council announcing Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the official opening day for the long-awaited Solution Fun City. This leisure park, expected to redefine recreational life in the state, will swing open its gates to the public amid a burst of music, color, and celebration.

The Council has approved an entertainment lineup that places cultural pride and musical excellence at its core. Leading the star-studded cast of performers is internationally acclaimed highlife maestro, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania. The award-winning artist, whose musical roots are deeply tied to the soul of Igbo tradition and modern rhythms, is set to ignite the stage alongside other renowned acts such as Umu-Obiligbo. The entertainment package promises to offer guests an unforgettable experience, blending fun with deep cultural expression.

Beyond entertainment, the government has taken serious strides in addressing urgent social challenges, particularly mental health. A new state-owned rehabilitation centre is set to rise in Nibo, within the Awka Capital Territory. This facility aims to provide a critical transition space for individuals emerging from asylums, enabling them to heal completely before reintegrating into society. The Council awarded a contract valued at N417,319,619.85 to Triseconds Resources Ltd to construct and model this facility. It is expected to include services such as psychotherapy, vocational rehabilitation, and community reintegration programs.

This latest move is not a standalone gesture but part of a broader strategic vision known as the Anambra Rebirth Programme. Deliberations during the council meeting emphasized the urgent need to rebuild the moral, economic, and social fabric of the state. The programme's blueprint is being fine-tuned to revive traditional values such as the Igbo Apprenticeship system, also known as Igba Boi. Once a hallmark of economic empowerment and mentorship, this system will form the backbone of youth engagement in the new initiative.

Moreover, the Rebirth Programme seeks to instill a renewed culture of integrity, hard work, and responsible behavior among residents. There is a determined push to criminalize the growing trend of public obscenity, particularly the reckless display of cash and the glorification of dubious wealth. Government officials noted that reversing the negative ideological shifts around wealth acquisition will be critical for sustainable development and a morally upright society.

Infrastructure development also received considerable attention during the session. Several contracts were considered and approved, targeting different sectors within the capital and other strategic parts of the state. Achufusi Ventures was awarded N72,598,200.88 for the relocation and expansion of the Solution Hub & Park at Aroma Junction, Awka, positioning the area as a modern urban attraction.

Navigator Sign Ltd was given the green light with a contract worth N414,907,757.85 for the construction of an increte walkway and flooring, along with the installation of kerbs and beautification works around the Ekwulobia Flyover. This is part of a broader effort to improve both the functionality and visual appeal of key urban infrastructure.

In the legal and administrative sectors, Hemebs Construction Ltd received a payment of N340,936,079.62 to cover additional works and cost fluctuations in the construction of a six-hall high court building complex. This facility is expected to improve judicial efficiency and support the state’s expanding legal framework.

O Ben Developers Ltd was paid N790,241,598.42 for further works and fluctuations tied to the construction of 17 duplexes and ancillary buildings at the new Commissioners’ Quarters in Awka. This project is envisioned as a major step toward providing modern accommodation for high-ranking government officials.

Lastly, the council approved a payment of N62,867,234.16 to B & O Ltd for adjusted costs on perimeter fencing, stormwater drainage, and other site works at the Safari Park in Agulu Lake. The park continues to attract eco-tourism interest and serves as a cornerstone of Anambra’s tourism strategy.

With these comprehensive projects and reforms, the state government is sending a strong signal: Anambra is not only celebrating its achievements but is actively shaping a future built on innovation, cultural pride, and inclusive growth.
