Kidnapped Edo Couple Record Desperate Pleas For Help While Armed Men Threaten Execution Over 50 Million Naira Ransom [VIDEO]

A terrified couple from Aviele Community near Auchi in Edo State have made an urgent appeal to friends, family and Nigerians at large after being abducted by a gang of armed men allegedly affiliated with herdsmen. The husband appeared in a distressing video clip, pleading for rescue while revealing that his wife was pregnant. He and his wife were snatched from their home by unknown gunmen who whisked them away into nearby bushland.

The kidnappers demanded a staggering ransom of fifty million Naira, threatening to kill the couple if their demand is not met. The husband’s words echoed desperation and fear as he cried out: “Please help us. Help us… my wife is pregnant and they want to sleep with her. Please help us.” The family has managed to raise only seven million Naira so far, but the abductors insist on the full ransom amount, giving no indication of negotiating down.

The chilling video was passed to a well‑known activist, who promptly made it public on his social media handle, in a bid to draw attention to the couple’s plight. Alongside the plea video, the activist also shared another recording belonging to a relative of the victims, in which the relative recounted the horrifying moment the attackers struck. According to that account, the husband had just returned home when a group of men stormed into the compound, subdued him and his wife, and dragged them away into the surrounding bush — leaving shocked neighbours helpless.

News of the abduction has sparked outrage across communities in Edo State, as citizens fear for the safety of vulnerable couples, especially those expecting children. Many are calling on local authorities and security agencies to intervene swiftly before the attackers carry out their threats. Some protesters argue that if such kidnappings continue unchecked, expectant mothers and other defenseless citizens could remain at grave risk.

The couple’s ordeal underscores the wider challenges faced by residents in rural Nigerian communities where security remains fragile. Residents of Aviele Community now live in fear, anxious that more innocent families might be targeted if this tragic situation is not treated with urgency.

Family members and well‑meaning Nigerians are being urged to rally support and act swiftly to secure the safe release of the couple. Donations, information leading to the arrest of the kidnappers, and public pressure on law enforcement agencies are being requested. Many have expressed concern over the newborn that may soon arrive if the pregnant wife does not receive timely medical care and emotional support.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the abduction. Local residents hope that the spotlight created by the viral video will compel security forces to move fast. The couple’s life — and that of their unborn child — hang in the balance while pleas for help reverberate across social media and local communities.
