UPDATE: Senator Ned Nwoko Breaks Silence, Says Regina Daniels And Her Supporters Are Part Of A Smear Campaign

Senator Ned Nwoko has refuted widespread allegations suggesting that his estranged wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, holds incriminating information capable of tarnishing his reputation. The lawmaker, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, addressed the growing controversy through a fresh statement issued by his Communication and Technical Action Team in Abuja on Monday.

The statement, which has stirred public attention, emphasized that the actress has nothing damaging to reveal against him. Nwoko maintained that those circulating false narratives were long-time adversaries seeking to exploit his personal situation for political gain and public sympathy.

According to the Senator, several individuals have for years plotted to undermine his achievements and reputation, using fabricated stories to project him negatively before both national and international audiences. He alleged that the latest campaign against him is simply another attempt to derail his focus on community development and his duties as a public servant.

Rejecting rumors about illegal land acquisitions in his hometown, Nwoko clarified that his involvement in local development was legitimate and transparent. He explained that he was legally allocated land for the establishment of the University of Sports, a fully functional institution that serves his community today. The Senator expressed disappointment that efforts to bring development to his hometown were being twisted into malicious stories aimed at portraying him as corrupt or selfish.

He lamented what he described as a cultural tendency to attack people who make meaningful progress, noting that his only intention had been to improve his community through education and youth empowerment. Nwoko insisted that those who continued to exploit Regina Daniels’ situation to smear his name would face legal consequences for their defamatory statements.

The politician did not hold back in his criticism of ongoing online discussions linking his estranged wife’s behavior to the controversy. He alleged that Regina Daniels had a history of substance use, claiming her condition predated their marriage. Nwoko said medical records could verify that she had struggled with drug-related issues and bipolar disorder, adding that even her former schoolmates had publicly confirmed these struggles.

He accused his detractors of manipulating her vulnerabilities to attack him and create public sympathy for a false narrative. The Senator pointed out that Regina Daniels herself had, on previous occasions, admitted to drug use and mental health challenges. According to him, if there were any genuine secrets or misconduct on his part, she would have already disclosed them to the public.

He described the recent flood of online allegations as baseless fabrications designed to destroy his reputation. Nwoko stated that the law would take its course against those peddling defamatory content and falsehoods. He affirmed that every piece of evidence would eventually vindicate him once the truth surfaced.

Addressing questions surrounding the timing of his marriage to the actress, Nwoko stated that Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000, and was 19 years old when they married. He dismissed speculation that she was 17 at the time, stressing that the marriage was conducted openly with her family’s consent. Her mother, he said, personally gave her away in accordance with traditional customs.

The Senator defended his decision to marry her, noting that polygamy remains culturally accepted within his community. He described their union as a legitimate and dignified arrangement, stressing that he had treated her with care and respect throughout their marriage. Nwoko explained that his affection for Regina was evident to those close to him and that his life revolved around her until recent disagreements arose.

Expressing frustration over what he termed “a deliberate character assassination,” Nwoko accused political rivals and personal enemies of exploiting cracks in his private life to weaken his public standing. He compared Regina to a vulnerable point through which his opponents were attempting to infiltrate and destabilize his political image.

According to him, the entire controversy amounts to a witch-hunt targeted at silencing his developmental efforts and undermining his growing influence as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving his constituency with integrity and warned that anyone involved in defaming him would be held accountable through lawful means.

Nwoko concluded by urging the public to disregard the false stories circulating online, emphasizing that time and evidence would expose the truth behind the ongoing campaign of calumny.
