In the wake of recent unfortunate incidents in Nnewi, the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, has expressed deep sympathy for all victims while assuring residents that swift action is being taken to investigate and address the situation.
Hon. Anazodo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that no individual or group operates under any guise to perpetrate crime or cause unrest in Nnewi. To this effect, he has set up a special security committee comprising experienced stakeholders who are already working diligently to uncover the truth behind these incidents. The committee’s findings will be submitted to his office for decisive action in line with the law.
"I assure Ndi Nnewi that this matter will be handled without fear or favor," he stated. "Justice will be served based on the committee's recommendations, and necessary measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence of such incidents."
Expressing gratitude to God, Hon. Anazodo acknowledged that the security situation in Nnewi has seen remarkable improvement in recent weeks, thanks to the newly established security outfit introduced by Governor Prof. Charles Soludo, CFR. He also noted that, despite the unfortunate nature of recent events, no lives were lost, and the affected victims are responding positively to treatment.
Reiterating his dedication to the safety and well-being of both indigenous residents and settlers in Nnewi, Hon. Anazodo emphasized that security remains a top priority for his administration. He assured the people that efforts are in place to align Nnewi’s development with Governor Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland.
Under his leadership, Nnewi North will experience significant progress across various sectors, including security, infrastructure, education, and overall development. He called for unity and cooperation among residents, assuring them that his administration is focused on fostering peace, safety, and sustainable growth in the town.
