Apostle Helen Ukpabio Warns Christians: Celebrating Mother’s and Father’s Day Are Dangerous Pagan Practices [VIDEO]

 

Apostle Helen Ukpabio, the founder of Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries, has stirred controversy with a strong message directed at Christians across the globe. She has taken a firm stand against popular celebrations such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Children’s Day, calling them spiritually dangerous and rooted in idolatrous traditions.

During a recent sermon delivered to members of her ministry and shared through their media platform, Ukpabio condemned these annual observances. According to her, these celebrations are not only unnecessary but spiritually harmful. She argued that they are nothing more than rebranded versions of ancient pagan festivals which the Bible clearly warned against.

Ukpabio believes many Christians are unknowingly walking into spiritual traps. To her, these days that appear harmless and sentimental are cleverly designed by the devil to mislead believers. She emphasized that the real origin of these events has little to do with Christianity and everything to do with occult and pagan practices.

She made reference to biblical warnings from the Book of Acts, urging her audience to examine the roots of what they are partaking in. The Apostle pointed out that in ancient times, specific days were set aside as taboos by idol worshippers. On those days, people abstained from farm work, exchanged gifts, and performed rituals in honor of their deities.

To Ukpabio, this is exactly what modern Christians are doing again, just under different names. “You say ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ or ‘Happy Father’s Day’ but from what foundation do these greetings emerge?” she questioned during her message. Her stance is clear – believers are participating in spiritual practices that contradict biblical teachings, even if they are unaware of it.

She expressed concern that Christians are gradually being lured away from true faith by social customs and commercial influences. According to her, these celebrations encourage people to set aside just one day to honor their parents, when in fact, respect and love should be demonstrated every day.

“Why reserve one day to honor your mother or your father?” she asked rhetorically. “You owe them gratitude and care daily, not just annually when society prompts you to.”

Ukpabio described these global observances as cleverly disguised rituals. She believes the intention behind them is not innocent, even if the participants think they are engaging in loving acts. She emphasized that what many see as harmless cultural traditions are actually modern versions of idol worship.

Backing her claims with scripture, she warned Christians not to be fooled by the appearance of such traditions. She explained that God detests idolatry in every form and cautioned that the consequences of such spiritual errors are severe. “The Bible doesn’t want you to be an idolater,” she said firmly. “The penalty is grave.”

This perspective has sparked both support and criticism. Some believers have echoed her warnings, admitting they had never considered the origins of these holidays. Others, however, view her message as overly rigid or extreme, suggesting that showing love on special days is not equivalent to idolatry.

Despite the backlash, Ukpabio remains unwavering in her stance. Her message is not one of condemnation for those who have participated in these events, but a wake-up call urging Christians to evaluate the spiritual foundations of the traditions they adopt.

She encouraged believers to return to biblical principles and question the origin of every practice they participate in. For her, faith must be rooted in Scripture, not in societal trends or emotions. “If you truly want to follow Christ, then be prepared to reject anything that opposes His word, no matter how popular it seems,” she urged.

This latest sermon is not the first time Ukpabio has challenged widely accepted norms. Known for her bold declarations and firm doctrinal beliefs, she has long held a reputation for confronting what she sees as spiritual compromise in the church.
