He Is Being Bull!ed And Intimidated - Blessing CEO Confirms Arrest Of Her Fiance, IVD Ahead Of Their Wedding

The recent arrest of popular Lagos auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, known to many as IVD, has sent ripples through social media and public discourse. The incident occurred on Friday, August 1, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport as he was about to board a flight to Qatar with his partner, self-styled relationship expert Blessing Okoro, widely referred to as Blessing CEO.

Eyewitnesses at the scene were reportedly stunned when officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions apprehended IVD, halting his travel abruptly. The arrest has since become the subject of intense debate, with many questioning the timing and legality of the action, especially given that it came just days before what sources claim was a planned wedding ceremony abroad.

IVD has been embroiled in a high-profile legal battle concerning the tragic death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in October 2022. The case has remained a sore spot in public conversations due to the nature of Bimbo’s passing. Her death, resulting from a fire outbreak during a domestic altercation in their Lagos home, prompted widespread outrage and calls for justice. Critics and activists have followed the proceedings closely, accusing the authorities of initially moving too slowly.

Legal documents reveal that the Lagos State Government filed a one-count charge of involuntary manslaughter against IVD, registered under suit No LD/21055C/23. The state has maintained that IVD must remain available for trial and should not interfere with judicial processes. Some unverified reports suggest the court may have placed a travel restriction on him to ensure he remains within the country during the proceedings.

Despite these reports, Blessing CEO took to her Instagram page hours after the incident to condemn what she described as targeted bullying and harassment. She insisted that there was no formal court order barring IVD from traveling. According to her, the couple would never have made their travel plans so public if there had been any legal obstacle in place.

She also hinted that the arrest was orchestrated to humiliate and intimidate IVD ahead of their much-anticipated journey and personal milestones. In her words, "This is not about justice anymore; it is pure intimidation. If there was a travel ban, we wouldn’t have booked tickets or made plans in broad daylight." Her post drew mixed reactions online, with some sympathizing with the couple and others calling her remarks insensitive considering the circumstances surrounding Bimbo’s death.

Social media has since exploded with opinions, ranging from support for IVD’s legal rights to harsh criticism of Blessing CEO’s defense. Many argue that regardless of travel intentions or relationship status, the court must be allowed to run its course without interference. Others insist that justice for Bimbo remains the priority, and IVD must be held accountable if found guilty.

Legal experts following the case note that such arrests, especially involving high-profile figures, must be handled with transparency. A Lagos-based attorney commented that if a travel ban existed but was not properly communicated to the defendant, the situation reflects poorly on court administration. Conversely, if no such ban was issued, then the arrest could potentially raise questions about the overreach of prosecutorial powers.

So far, official statements from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions have been minimal. There has been no confirmation regarding whether a travel restriction was officially placed on IVD or the specific legal grounds for the airport arrest. Calls for clarity continue to mount, with public interest only intensifying due to the personalities involved.

While Blessing CEO continues to voice her grievances on social platforms, others await developments in the courtroom. Whether this arrest signifies a pivotal turn in the manslaughter trial or merely an administrative misstep remains to be seen. What is certain is that this case, with all its legal and emotional complexity, will continue to dominate headlines in the coming days.
