Daddy Freeze Praises Tinubu’s Leadership, Says Nigeria Finally Has Hope

Renowned media personality and social commentator, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has shared his renewed optimism about Nigeria’s future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Initially skeptical, the outspoken broadcaster now believes that the administration’s policies—especially in the power sector—are gradually steering the country in the right direction.

In a recent interview with Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, Daddy Freeze admitted that while Nigeria still faces deep-seated challenges, President Tinubu’s approach to governance has given citizens a much-needed sense of hope.

“With President Bola Tinubu, I don’t think Nigeria is in trouble,” he stated candidly. “I was scared initially, but I’m seeing the work he is doing in the power sector.”

The popular radio host, known for his blunt takes on social and political issues, used a metaphor to describe the nation’s predicament. He likened Nigeria to an overloaded tipper truck with a faulty engine, emphasizing that no leader could fix its issues overnight.

“Nigeria is a big overloaded tipper with a bad engine. So, anybody or mechanic you bring will struggle. The leadership is that mechanic,” he explained.

His comments come at a time when many Nigerians remain divided over the effectiveness of the current administration. While some praise Tinubu’s economic policies and infrastructural initiatives, others argue that the hardship in the country has intensified. However, Daddy Freeze urged citizens to be patient, stressing that Nigeria’s long-standing problems cannot be resolved in a short time.

“Nigeria has so many problems. Sometimes, us expecting a particular government to be able to just come and fix it, is a bit ambitious,” he noted.

Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in the direction the country is taking, adding that his earlier fears about the administration’s ability to govern have been replaced with cautious optimism.

“I was worried initially, but with the way this regime has handled things up until now, I am leaning towards the fact that we finally have hope in this country.”

Daddy Freeze’s remarks have sparked debates across social media, with some agreeing that the government’s efforts—particularly in the energy sector—show promise, while others remain unconvinced. His shift in perspective reflects the broader conversation among Nigerians regarding the nation’s future under President Tinubu’s leadership.

While it remains to be seen how these policies will impact the average citizen in the long run, Daddy Freeze’s endorsement suggests that at least some influential voices are beginning to see progress in the administration’s approach.

As the government continues its reforms, one question lingers: Will this newfound hope translate into tangible improvements for Nigerians? Time will tell.
